ESRB leaks Unravel 2 for Xbox One and PC ahead of reveal

A few years ago, Unravel was one of the biggest surprises out of EA’s press conference. The game was a simple platformer which required you to control an adorable entity made out of yarn. While the title didn’t offer a radically new gameplay experience, the photorealistic visuals and touching story blew everyone away. It garnered good reviews and a significant fan following.

Since then, many gamers have been asking for a sequel and it looks like EA has one in development. This time around, the game was leaked by the American Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). The ESRB is the entity responsible for assigning classifications to games like “T for Teen” or “M for Mature”. This system determines the age requirements for purchasing titles.

If you do a quick rating search on the website, a post about “Unravel 2” shows up. The title is only listed for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. If you look at the description, it seems like the game will feature co-op gameplay this time around.

This is a side-scrolling platformer in which players control a pair of fantastical creatures called Yarnys as they navigate environments. Players traverse platforms and avoid hazards by swinging from yarn lassos; some areas contain animals that chase/menace the player’s characters.

EA will probably announce the game in a few hours during EA Play 2018. However, we don’t know how far along Unravel 2 is in development, so the reveal might not occur today. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
