Xbox One X Fallout 76 footage teaches you how to launch nuclear missiles

Today, Bethesda released some E3 2018 footage for Fallout 76. While most of it was showcased during the publisher’s briefing, there are some sections which we haven’t seen before. Fallout 76’s gameplay looks absolutely breathtaking. The game is definitely a considerable improvement over Fallout 4 from a technical standpoint.

It features sixteen times the detail and you can even view distant weather systems across the map. There are six distinct regions to explore which have their own look and feel. Apart from that, the creatures vary as well. For example, you may encounter a giant sloth in one locale and a deadly mutated bat in another. Both of them present unique challenges and there are specific ways to take them down.

The footage focuses on acquiring nuclear launch codes and then detonating ballistic missiles. This destruction creates a high-level zone with rare and valuable resources. While it fades overtime, you can always find another launch site and repeat the process.

Fallout 76 isn’t a hardcore survival game like Ark: Survival Evolved. Bethesda’s Todd Howard called it “softcore survival”. It seems that the focus will mostly be on completing quests rather than farming resources. Be sure to preorder the game if you enjoy such experiences.
