Warface coming to Xbox One with free-to-play FPS action

Crytek is bringing its free-to-play “MMO first person shooter” Warface to consoles. The developer, which is best known for the Crysis franchise, revealed today that Warface will hit both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 starting later in 2018.

Warface is a competitive shooter that pits two factions, Warface and Blackwood, against one another in ranked or casual play. There are four classes to play, ranging from the Rifleman and Sniper to the Engineer and Medic. The PC version of the game currently includes nine PVP modes, along with more than 50 maps. There’s also a PVE mode with missions that vary in difficulty and story-driven special operations.

According to Crytek, the console versions of Warface are being developed by a separate team, so the PC version will continue to see the same pace of updates that players are used to.

As for when console players can get their hands on the game, there’s no official date for the release version yet. However, PlayStation 4 gamers will be able to jump in with early access in August, while Xbox One players will get the same opportunity in September. For now, you can check out Warface for free on Steam.
