The Bones of Mount Vesuvius


Mount Vesuvius rises over the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii. In A.D. 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, destroying Pompeii and the city of Herculaneum, which was even closer to the volcano’s crater.
