Alienware’s m15, its thinnest gaming notebook ever, now available starting at $1,460

Putting together a gaming laptop that’s also thin and light isn’t an easy thing to do. Typically, if you want the most power possible, you’ll have to make certain sacrifices when it comes to weight and bulk. But Alienware bucked that trend when it introduced the m15 earlier this month, and now it’s on sale starting at $1,460.

Crucially, the Alienware m15 only weighs in at 4.8 pounds and measures about 0.8 inches thick. Remarkably, the diminutive chassis still manages to pack in up to an Intel Core i7-8750HQ processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070 graphics, and up to 32GB of RAM. There are myriad storage options here as well, ranging up to 1TB of PCIe M.2 SSD storage with an additional 1TB hybrid drive. There’s also an option for Intel’s 120GB Optane SSD combined with a 1TB hybrid drive.

The 15.6-inch display is available in a few different options, from a 1080p 60Hz and 144Hz panels, along with a 4K 60Hz screen. You’ll also find additional gamer-centric goodies like Killer Wireless network chips and six programmable keyboard comes with up to 16.8 million colors on tap.

Lots of ports are tagging along here, including gigabit Ethernet, several USB3.0 Type-A ports, Mini-Display Port 1.3, a Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port, and one HDMI 2.0 output.

For now, you can pick up the Alienware m15 directly from Dell with an included m15 Pro Backpack, with prices starting at $1,460. Delivery dates are currently estimated for mid-November.
