Just Cause, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series join Xbox backward compatibility

Ever since Xbox One backward compatibility was announced, gamers have been asking for a few high-profile games. While the majority of requests revolve around the Call of Duty franchise, the Castlevania franchise has been another hot series. Today, Xbox Live’s Director of Programming, Larry Hryb, announced that Just Cause, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 are now backward compatible.

Backward compatibility opens Xbox One to a huge variety of games, spanning three generations of Microsoft’s consoles. Despite hardware differences, it remains an outstanding feature, allowing a select library of older games to be played on Xbox One. While the majority of them are Xbox 360 titles, there are also some original Xbox games in there.

Just Cause

In Just Cause, you take on the role of the flamboyant Rico Rodriguez — an undercover operative specialized in regime changes — as he tries to overthrow the corrupt government of San Esperito. This rogue South American island is suspected of stockpiling nuclear weapons and it’s your job to negate the threat. This essentially means blowing everything up in sight.

Just Cause costs $9.99 on the Xbox Store.
