AMD starts 2019 with a range of new processors designed for mobile computing

AMD has unveiled its second-generation mobile Ryzen 3000 chips, which it says perform “well above the competition.” Some of the new features in the second-gen Ryzen mobile range include modern standby, 4K HDR streaming, and wake on voice, with boosted battery life.

The 12nm tech, AMD says, offers significant gains over competing Intel chips for every-day tasks such as web browsing, and more advanced productivity user-scenarios like media editing. The first PCs that feature the new chips will arrive in Q1 from the likes of Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Huawei, Lenovo, and Samsung, with more on the way.

Additionally, AMD touted its fresh Radeon Adrenalin software will allow users to update their Ryzen-based chipsets with the latest features and optimizations for games.
