Payload Studios, a growing British developer, announced that its award-winning sandbox adventure, TerraTech, will launch on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 in Summer 2018. TerraTech is a creative sandbox game where players design and build their own contraptions through a mix of crafting, combat and discovery.
Set in a future where Earth’s resources have been depleted, you can choose to explore an uncharted alien landscape to forage, fight and craft. Just like Minecraft, there’s also a “Creative Mode” free of threats.
Upon release, the game will get a variety of new features on PC as well, developed over four years in early access. As a bonus, PC players will be able to try out the brand new multiplayer mode, which features free-for-all and team deathmatch modes for up to sixteen players, from May 18.
Payload Studios founder Russ Clarke issued the following statement alongside the announcement.
This summer’s multiplatform launch of TerraTech is a huge milestone for the game, and the team. It’s been a long road to this point, and we’ve been blown away by the support and enthusiasm of our wonderful community of players. Their dedication has contributed hugely to the quality and depth of experience which we are now tremendously excited to bring to a wider audience.
Hopefully TerraTech will be a polished experience when it launches in a few months. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we’re given a concrete release date.
