Your Surface Pro is a slim, light device, and it’s understandable why you want to keep it that way while also providing some protection. Sounds like you need a sleeve. To help you find the best option, we rounded up a range of Surface Pro sleeves.
Not every sleeve needs to have a flap or a zipper. The Dash from WaterField takes a minimalist approach that uses a simple, stretchy latch that pulls over to keep your Surface Pro in place.
In his review, Executive Editor Daniel Rubino had this to say:
There are some specific usage scenarios that the Dash Sleeve fits well, and it’s a great option to have if you travel a lot with the Surface Book or Pro 4 and are looking for protection. WaterField Designs is a company that stands behind its products, and I recommend the Dash Sleeve.
It’s available in black ballistic nylon or waxed canvas (which is grayer in color) and has real leather accents. On the back is a wide pocket to hold chargers or a book or two, and there is a dedicated slot for the Surface Pen. This premium option from WaterField starts at about $89.
ProCase sleeve cover bag
ProCase blurs the line a bit here, offering up a sleeve with a handle, zipper, and plenty of padding. Still, it’s thin enough to be a sleeve, and many of you will love it if you carry your Surface Pro around without another larger bag.
It currently has a five-star rating on Amazon with more than 5,500 reviews, and many buyers note the soft, padded interior and spacious pocket on the back for chargers and the Surface Pen.
Available in four colors, this is definitely a favorite sleeve out there, no doubt helped by its $18 price tag.
ProCase wallet sleeve
Another option from ProCase, this one is definitely a sleeve. It’s made up of composition leather for durability and a premium feel, and a magnetic flap holds your Surface Pro in place. There are three colors available — red, brown, and black — and it currently sits at a 4.7-star rating on Amazon with more than 1,800 reviews.
This slim sleeve fits well in a backpack or briefcase, and the pocket on the back is large enough to hold the charger and Surface Pen. Rest assured the interior pocket has enough room to hold an attached Type Cover. This sleeve, perfect for the professional, starts at about $16.
Brenthaven Collins Sleeve Plus
Brenthaven Collins has some quality accessories for Surface devices, and in fact, it makes one of our favorite messenger bags out there. Following the company’s trend of quality craftsmanship is the Sleeve Plus. This sleeve is custom fit to the Surface Pro, so it has room for an attached Type Cover. There is also a dedicated pocket for the Surface Pen, and another, larger pocket for a charger and mouse.
Made of vegan “leather,” denim, and cotton, this bag looks top-notch. A sturdy zipper holds everything in place when you’re on the move, and it is available in two colors. If you don’t mind spending a bit more on a quality sleeve, check out this option from Brenthaven Collins. It starts at about $50.
MoKo PU leather sleeve
A suede interior ensures your Surface Pro doesn’t get scratched, and a large back pocket holds slim documents and your Surface Pen. The flap is held in place with a magnet to uphold the slim look — this is for your tablet only, as the Type Cover will not fit when attached. This slim sleeve starts at about $17.
Mozo Saffiano sleeve
Mozo and Microsoft have a long relationship when it comes to cases and sleeves for Surface products, and their new Saffiano sleeve (about $50) is a knockout. It’s made from a high-end, textured leather that’s pressed to deliver a cross-hatch finish. To preserve the leather, it’s then given a wax treatment.
Executive Editor Daniel Rubino, in his review, said:
The look, feel, and uniqueness makes these sleeves a perfect match for Surface, so much so that you might think Microsoft made them.
The pocket of the sleeve is lined with suede to protect your laptop, and there’s enough room to snugly fit the Surface Pen. If you don’t mind paying a bit more, this luxury sleeve is one of the best around.
