Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read another installment of Comment Authority here at Android Authority. Comment Authority is a weekly roundup where we highlight some of the best comments from you, our readers. This week we saw some good discussions in the political realm, with both the hot topics of ZTE’s American woes and the vote to stop the repeal of Net Neutrality. We also saw a lot of comments in our review for the Nokia 7 Plus, and you guys seemed to really like talking about Verizon’s new mystery company called Visible.
With all that in mind, let’s read some of the best comments of the week!
When it comes to ZTE, Trump’s in a difficult spot
ZTE has certainly had a rough 2018 so far. However, it looks like the beleaguered smartphone manufacturer may see some reprieve, as President Trump himself might be stepping in to help keep the company alive. Regardless of your feelings about the U.S. President, you have to admit that he’s in a tricky situation.
One reader by the name of balcobomber25 sums up the quandary quite well in this comment:
Is Net Neutrality really such a black-and-white issue?
The arguments for or against Net Neutrality create passionate defenders on both sides. While the general consensus here at Android Authority (and elsewhere around the web) is that Net Neutrality is good and should be preserved, plenty of our readers would disagree. In a recent article about how Net Neutrality will now vanish on a specific date this year, the comments got pretty heated.
However, one reader going by the moniker Jawbox feels that the issue has been painted as too black-and-white:
Ummm…are you Batman?
We posted an article this week about Visible, a new mobile service provider that — at the time — we called a Verizon MVNO. However, it is not a Verizon MVNO, at least not according to Visible. We wrote about the confusion in a longer article a few days later.
While the case is now closed that Visible is actually owned and operated by Verizon, one reader (who may-or-may-not-be Batman posing as Shane Britton) did some of their own digging, and found evidence to support that Visible might actually be a Verizon MVNO after all:
Unintentional (or intentional?) rhyming comment of the week
The comments in our review of the new Nokia 7 Plus were mostly the normal chit-chat about specs and comparisons to other devices on the market. However, buried at the bottom of the list was a simple comment that didn’t seek to offend and just wanted to add a little joy to the world.
That’s because the comment is actually a little poem, with two rhyming stanzas. It’s hard to tell if Έλληνας actually meant for the comment to rhyme or if it just came out that way, but we think it’s really pleasant:
Have a safe and happy weekend, everyone. I hope you’re ready for Deadpool 2!
