Next week we only have one new “AAA” release on Xbox One, but there are still a few surprises here and there. Notably, State of Decay 2 is finally launching on the console, and Dark Souls Remastered transports you to a world filled with deadly creatures. With that in mind, here are all of the biggest games launching next week, between May 21 and May 25, 2018.
State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2 is a co-op multiplayer game which forces you to survive in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. Players have to work together, build bases, and form communities if they wish to survive in this hostile land. The first game — despite the fact that it suffered from numerous performance issues — garnered a significant following. Keep in mind that only the Ultimate Edition of the game gives you early access.
Dark Souls Remastered
Dark Souls: Remastered is a third-person role-playing game which takes place in an open world connected by a central area known as the Firelink Shire. As much as it is about skillful combat, there’s a lot of exploration involved. The aim is to learn from your mistakes as you memorize each area and make you way to various boss encounters. Collecting souls and increasing your health, stamina or other attributes is key to success as you get ready for the final fight.
Dark Souls: Remastered should be available May 25, priced at $39.99. The game features Xbox One X enhancements.
Sudden Strike 4: European Battlefields Edition
Sudden Strike 4 is a tactical real-time strategy game with an authentic World War II setting that challenges your skills in more ways than its predecessors. Storm the beaches of Normandy or lead your tanks into the Ardennes and defend Moscow in three action-packed campaigns. You can take command of over a hundred different units and test your strategic abilities in over twenty single-player missions. The title also supports various multiplayer modes.
Sudden Strike 4: European Battlefields Edition should launch on May 25. The game features Xbox One X enhancements.
I Hate Running Backwards
I Hate Running Backwards is a new “shoot ’em down” that promises a never-ending dose of adrenaline in which some of Devolver Digital and Croteam’s most iconic characters wage war against one another on destructible, procedurally-generated worlds.
I Hate Running Backwards should launch on May 22, priced at $14.99.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a pixelated Castlevania-like platformer which focuses on combat more than exploration. The title should hold us over until Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night releases.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon should launch on May 24, priced at $9.99.
These are the biggest games launching soon, and many of them seem like absolutely thrilling experiences. Be sure to check out State of Decay 2 and Dark Souls Remastered because they appear to be the most unique games out of the lot. Which titles are you interested in? Let us know.
