Bethesda announces Fallout 76 for Xbox One and PC

Yesterday, Bethesda hosted a strange livestream which basically showcased Vault Boy and a screen which said “Please Stand By”. However, later on that night, a Bethesda employee came and “murdered” Vault Boy and that was the end of that. Luckily, this morning the mystery was revealed because Bethesda just announced a new Fallout game called Fallout 76. The title takes place hundreds of years before the events of Fallout 4 on “Reclamation Day”.

Fallout 76 is expected to launch on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. It’s unclear if the game will release in 2018 or 2019 as further details are expected at E3 2018.

Aside from the trailer, the developer didn’t provide any other information. The game seems to be running on an upgraded Fallout 4 engine with added effects like better textures and reflections. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more. Until then, simply rejoice in the fact that there’s a new Fallout game coming and it’s not a rumored remaster.

The Fallout franchise takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States ravaged by nuclear war. It’s filled with threats like deadly factions and mutants. The games can be played from a first-person or third-person perspective just like The Elder Scrolls series.
